Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. It has been a great week back at Staynor and can’t wait to get stuck into more exciting things this term. 

Coming up next week: 

English: Year 5 - the children will be looking at the opening to a myth with a focus on speech and adverbial phrases.  

Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at multiplying and dividing by 10,100 and 1000 linked to measure

Curriculum: next week we will be looking at when the Ancient Greeks lived and key events in their history. 

Science: the children will learn about the stages of life from a child to adulthood

 PSHE: Year 5 -To know the importance of being respectful to everyone and to recognise and care about others people’s feelings and to know how to challenge another person’s viewpoint if appropriate. 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
