WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Friday 14th June 2024
Dear Families,
On 25th June we will have members of the Allergy Team coming to spend the day with us in school.
The Allergy Team has been engaged by us to review allergy management and share best practice. During the visit the allergy team will be speaking to members of staff and pupils about how the school manages food allergies. They will also be talking to parents of pupils with food allergies in advance of their visit.
The Allergy Team offers training, support and consultancy to families, companies and schools. The team uses experience of living with food allergy to improve safety for people living with food allergy and transform attitudes towards the condition. Backed by the country’s leading allergy healthcare professionals, they encourage a whole-school approach to improve awareness, inclusion and confidence.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming the team into our school and fully immersing themselves into school life.
Have a lovely weekend

What's Cooking?
I have been working with children from Team Swale this week and we have been making Gingerbread People! The children have learnt about hygiene and safety and have had a chance to use a rolling pin and cutters. They have had the opportunity to experience art works with a food focus and decorated some fantastic gingerbread people.
They did have the option of bringing the decorated people home but chose to eat them in Cook School (yum yum). They did bring their own bakes home though and I hope you have enjoyed them.
Whilst eating their biscuits, they listened to the story of the Gingerbread Man and enjoyed discussing their thoughts on the story. They then had the opportunity to further develop their colouring skills and designed their very own Gingerbread Person. Well done Team Swale, you all did a fantastic job in Cook School.
Over the next two weeks, I will be working with Team Nidd. They will also be making Gingerbread People.
Also next week, Team Foss will be decorating the cupcakes that Team Humber made recently in preparation for the School Fayre which is on Friday 21st June. I do hope you will all be able to pop along and buy their amazing bakes. There will also be hotdogs on sale! I hope to see you there!
