Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

The team has worked so hard this week completing their challenges! I am very proud of them as I know they have tried their hardest. Please see below the events going on next week:

Wednesday 19th June we will be visiting a Hindu Temple in Hull. As a reminder, packed lunches will need to be vegetarian.

Thursday 20th June pm - KS2 sports day

Friday 21st June we will be visiting Horton Park.

After school on Friday 21st June is the school fair. 

Coming up next week: 

English: The children will be continuing to write their independent write next week based on a child working in the mill in the Victorian era. 

Maths: The children have worked hard on finding the unit fraction of a quantity this week. Next week they will be working on finding the non unit fraction of a quantity. 

Curriculum: Next week we'll be explorin if it was only adults who went to work during the victorian era 

Science: The children planned their investigation this week on how exercise affects their heart rate. Next week, they will be completing their investigation. 

PSHE: Over the next couple of weeks we will be looking a tknowing how girls’ and boys’ bodies change during puberty and understand the importance of looking after themselves physically and emotionally. 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
