Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

This week the children have loved learning about being a master of the arts and they have trialled a taster session in circus skills as well which was really enjoyable. 

Coming up next week: 

English: Year 5 - We will be starting a new topic focusing on life in a mill and writing this as a story. 

Maths: Year 5 - the children will be beginning to look at multiplying fractions

Curriculum - The children will start their new topic on ‘Is it always a wonderful world of work’ This is linked to the Victorians. This week they will learn about what Victorian Britain was like.

Science- Year 5 will be looking at the circulatory system through an experiment. 

PSHE

This week we will be looking at knowing how to to recognise when I am spending too much time using devices. 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
