Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

This week the children have really enjoyed writing their own myth based on Theseus and the minotaur.

Coming up next week: 

English: Year 5 - the children will be choosing one of our artists of the week and writing a biography based on that artist. 

Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at fractions and converting mixed fractions to improper fractions and vice versa

Curriculum - it is learn through week and we will be focusing on ‘pop art’. We will be focusing on two specific artists, Andy Warhol and Lichenstein. Using the theme of ‘pop art,’ the children will create a self portrait ready to show at our open doors art exhibition on 3rd July.

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
