Dear Families,
It's been lovely for our school community to come to school dressed in blue today to celebrate Autism Awareness Day. We celebrate autism throughout school and I'd like to share some of the words our children have written.
"Autism is an interesting thing because sometimes it can be really full on tricky to control but then in other moments in your life it can be a thing to enjoy. We call it my superpower!"
"Autism is unique, a superpower, a good different and special"
"Autism is something my friends have got, they just see the world in a different way"
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
With very best wishes
Mrs Winter
What's Cooking?
Team Aire have been in Cook School this week making some delicious Queen Drop Biscuits, in celebration of Queen Victoria. The recipe originates from a famous head cook during Victorian times, Mrs Avis Crocombe. Mrs Crocombe was an English house servant at Audley End House in the 1880's and only found fame 100 years after her death following some YouTube videos made by English Heritage. I'm sure the children in Team Aire will enjoy telling you all about it!
Not only have the children produced some delicious biscuits, they have further developed their cooking skills by using digital scales, a sieve and even cracked an egg! Well done to you all - you were amazing. I will continue to work with more children from Team Aire next week.
