Good afternoon,
Team Calder have worked incredibly hard on their assessments this week and deserve a well earned rest this weekend!
Coming up next week:
Curriculum: we are continuing to learn about how the Vikings changed Britain.
English: the children will be writing their own Viking saga for our Year 3 and 4 children.
Maths: the children will be continuing their work on area and scaling.
Science: the children will be learning about Charles Darwin and his research around evolution and inheritance
PSHE: the children will be continuing their learning from last week on body image.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Lazenby
