Team calder & Loxley (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Teams Calder and Loxley have been working really hard on their writing this week and are really looking forward to writing their own versions of Theseus and the Minotaur on Monday.

Next week, the children will be completing their challenge papers. Please reassure  your child that it’s okay if they don’t know all the answers. Encourage them to try their best and stay calm.

English: We will be starting our independent writing  based on Theseus and the minotaur.

Maths: We will be learning about fractions.

Curriculum: Children will be finding out whether daily life in ancient Greece was similar to modern day.

PSHE: We will be looking at different cultures

Science: We will be looking at comparative and fair testing.

Homework will be set this week.

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework. 

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
