Good afternoon,
This week we had the opportunity to work with Drax on a couple of Science workshops - magnets and balloon cars! It was really fun and interesting! In English, we wrote another paragraph for a non chronological report about Poland, this time on the landscapes in Poland! The children enjoyed putting their knowledge of pronouns into practice and finding opportunities where the noun could be changed to a pronoun to avoid repetition. In Geography, the children enjoyed comparing the physical features found in Poland and the UK, including the names of some of them.
Next week:
Creative Curriculum: Are settlements in Poland similar to the UK?
Maths: We will be looking at rounding 4 digit numbers to the nearest thousand, hundred and ten.
English: We will be continuing with writing non-chronological reports about Poland using apostrophes for possession.
PSHE Y3: We will be looking at how to enjoy facing new learning challenges and working out the best ways to achieve them and how to be motivated and enthusiastic about achieving a new challenge.
PSHE Y4: We will be looking at how to make a new plan and set new goals even if they have been disappointed and how to work out the steps to take to achieve a goal, and can do this successfully as part of a group.
Homework:
Homework will be set on a Friday and is due the following Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. Please record this in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars or timestables.co.uk a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
