Good afternoon,
We have had a busy week, and the children have done a great job. They have worked hard, stayed focused, and put in a lot of effort across their learning.
In Maths, Year 1 will be continuing with addition and subtraction.
In Year 2 , next week we will be beginning a new topic of shape.
In Writing, KS1 will be planning and writing their independent write. This will be a descriptive piece of writing.
In Spanish this week KS1 have started their new topic today and they love the songs and have asked if they can learn them at home.

Changing books:
To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records be sent to school on THURSDAYS.
REMINDERS:
For Spring 1, our PE days will be Monday and Thursdays.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Thursday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Below is a list of KS1 common exceptions words. These are a list of words that the children need to be able to read and write - although this isn't homework as such, it may be useful to practice these at home.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
Thank you,
Team KS1
