Good afternoon,
Team Calder have had another great week. The children particularly enjoyed their ukulele lesson and are making some great music already!
Coming up next week:
Curriculum: the children will be discovering why the Vikings initially invaded England.
English: the children will be writing the introduction to a narrative based on a Viking saga, using carefully chosen language to interest the reader.
Maths: the children will be learning short methods for division
Science: the children will be learning about the planets orbiting the sun and they will be making an orrery.
PSHE: the children will be learning about the risks with misusing alcohol, including anti-social behaviour, and how it affects the liver and heart.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Lazenby
