Reception (Nidd & Swale)

Good afternoon, 

Team Swale and Team Nidd have had an amazing first half term at school. We hope you have a lovely half term and get lots of rest. 

This is what we will be looking at during the first week back after half term in English and Maths. The children will also continue to do daily phonics lessons and guided reading.

English - We will reading the book Room on the Broom on the first day back and discussing what the children did for Halloween. We will then be looking at Bonfire night on Tuesday before starting our work on the story there is Only One You on Wednesday and Friday. The children will discussing how they can be the best versions of themselves as part of our whole school learn through week. 

Maths - We will be looking at how the numbers 1 to 5 can all be made out of ones and we will be exploring how many ones are needed to make each number up to 5. 

PE will be on a Monday every week. 

Please send your child with their book bag on Friday as they will be bringing home a wordless reading book, along with a picture book for them to read at home with you. The children will have all read the book three times with an adult in school so they will be eager to share it with you at home. We politely ask that these books are returned to school on the following Friday.
