Good afternoon,
The children have had a great final week of this half term. On Monday and Tuesday afternoon, the children had an art day where they explored a range of printing techniques, including rubbing, pressing and rolling, to create their own Lascaux painting. We also had a DT day on Thursday where the children sowed a Stoneage berry pouch, choosing between a running stitch or overstitch.
W/C 4th November:
Learn through week: This week is our first learn through week where the children will learn all about being the best versions of themselves. We will be focusing on several inspirational people (Coco Chanel, David Attenborough, Greta Thunberg and Marcus Rashford). The children will then create a biography of their chosen inspirational individual. On Friday, we will be creating a Picasso-inspired piece of artwork to show the qualities that make the children the best version of themselves.
Maths: In Maths we will be continuing to look at column method for subtraction. We are going to start by subtract without exchanging and then will move onto exchanging from tens to ones and hundreds to tens.
PE: Dove, Derwent and Foss all have PE on Wednesday and Friday.
Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
As next week is half term, there is no homework set. We hope the children all have a nice, relaxing week to recharge and spend quality time with family and friends!
