Good afternoon,
The children have had a very busy week, taking part in some assessments so we can put support in for the children moving forward. They have shown incredible resilience and perseverance and I am incredibly proud of them all.
They have also enjoyed learning about what life was like after World War 1 - ask them about hyperinflation in Germany!
Coming up next week:
English: the children will be writing the start of a story based on the evacuation of Dunkirk in World War 2
Maths - the children will be finding missing angles in shapes
Curriculum - the children will be learning about who the allied forces were in World War 2.
Science - the children will be learning about air resistance.
PSHE
Year 6 will be following some bespoke PSHE for the first few weeks. Next week we will be continuing to look at respect and the importance of this to have successful relationships.
Homework:
Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up.
Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week.
Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kind regards,
Mrs Danbury
