Club Dues:
$25 dues for this school year are due by October 20th. Dues can be paid with cash or checks made payable to “East Brunswick High School”. Please place money/check in an envelope with your name and ID number and hand in to Ms. Cofinas in room 1520 or Ms. Cortina in school counseling.
Pay to Play:
Club registation ($15) must be payed on Commuinity Pass
Interest Meeting:
September 14th, Auditorium
*Makeup Meeting: 9/15 @ 7:30 AM, Room 1520
Requirements:
11th or 12th grader throughout the current school year.
3.6 minimum GPA.
30 hours of community service by Sept. 1 of the current school year.
If 25 or more hours are completed through ONE organization, you must provide validation from the organization on official letterhead.
Two current and different extracurricular activities, demonstrated through the activity forms.
Leadership in one extracurricular activity, demonstrated through the activity forms.
Please make sure that your community service hours are not also your activities. No "double dipping" allowed. Activities and community service hours are two different items.
Leadership does not mean a leadership position, it means demonstration of leadership qualities.
Application Process:
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, October 13, 2023 by 2:45 PM
1) Attend the NHS Interest Meeting on 9/14 at 2:45 in the Auditorium, Make-up Interest Meeting is 9/15 at 7:15AM in 1520. You must attend an Interest Meeting to receive an application!
2) Thoroughly read through the Application Directions Guide. This contains instructions for completing the application in its entirety.
3) Complete Application Part 1: This portion contains a student information sheet, and community service log.
4) Complete Application Part 2: This portion contains two Activity Forms. Each form is to be given to the advisor for your 2 extracurricular activities to sign off on your participation in these activities. The student is responsible for picking up the completed advisor forms and including with their applications prior to the deadline.
All parts of the application must be placed in a business envelope including their name and ID number and submitted by Friday, October 13, 2023 by 2:45PM. This must be turned in to either Ms. Cofinas in room 1520 or Ms. Cortina in the counseling office. No late submissions will be accepted.
After Admission:
A membership contract outlining responsibilities and expectations must be reviewed and signed by the student and parent/guardian, then returned to the advisors.
Members are required to fulfill all chapter requirements according to the deadlines designated by the executive committee and the advisors. Failure to comply with the East Brunswick NHS guidelines may result in probation from or removal from NHS.
ANY academic or integrity violations or severe disciplinary violations will result in IMMEDIATE removal from NHS.
