About the class

Independent study in band is for students that want to broaden their knowledge in the mechanics of music (music theory) or how music has evolved throughout history (music appreciation.) Generally, these classes are offered on an as-needed basis to interested seniors. These are students that are usually looking at music as a major or minor in  college, or want to continue their study further beyond just playing in the ensemble.
