Introduction to Industrial Technology

Introduction to Industrial Technology is an elective class for one semester. The primary goal of this class is to show the students the general areas and occupations related to Industrial Technology. The course is designed to take the student through the design to the production of products. Students will learn and understand materials, processes, hand tools, power tools, technology and safety. The course is primarily hands-on learning in the woods alb and CAD lab; however, class discussions and assignments are used for learning and student assessment. During the course students will also learn the basics of Computer-Aided Drafting and use the 3D printer. Safety is a major focus of this class. Students will leave the class with an understanding of wood shop safety and how to use basic hand and power tools. Students will complete a small individual woods project, CO2 Dragster, and several CAD projects.
