We view math as a very foundational skill in 1st Grade. Students work on strengthening their number sense, counting to 120, and understanding simple operations. We work on fully conceptualizing and understanding each math concept, not just memorizing math facts. Here are a few of the skills we work on all year:
- Number Sense (Understanding that numbers have an order and can be represented)
- Counting to 120
- Addition
- Subtraction
- Decomposing
- Shapes
- Patterns
