The suggested daily homework for kindergarten students is up to 10 minutes per night a few nights per week.
Homework is practice and will not be graded.
Please go over sight word flash cards or other sight word activities with your child each night.
Please read with your child each night. It teaches a love of reading, and they feel so special when they spend time with you lost in a great book.
I will send home a "Reading and Rhyme" folder most weeks. Please read the 1-2 new poems (and even older poems from previous weeks!) with your child throughout the week. In time, he or she will be able to read them to you!
As we get a little further into the school year, students will bring home Guided Reading books during the week to read as homework.
Each day the students will bring home a folder that will contain messages from the office and myself as well as completed worksheets and/or homework sheets.
Please check your child’s folder daily.
There is time in our schedule each day for the students to enjoy a snack. East Penn School District encourages a healthy lifestyle for all children. Therefore, I ask that you send your child to school each day with a healthy snack. We will only have about 10 minutes for a snack, so please pack something small and not too messy. Nothing that requires a spoon, please!:)
All absences require a written excuse. Students must make up all missed work.
Students may celebrate their birthdays by bringing in a book donated in his/her name for the class.
“Star of the Week” Each week, our class celebrates one student. When your child is that week's star, you will receive information regarding that day the week before to give you time to fill in a "Star of the Week" poster that will hang in our classroom.
If your child’s “school to home” routine is altered, please sent a note with him or her to school. Please do not rely on email. We will be very busy, and I may not receive it in time!
