2nd Year Orchestra Lessons

This site provides instructional support and learn at home lessons for the East Penn SD 2nd Year Orchestra students, typically 5th grade students. This program is for 5th grade students who have participated in the strings program in 4th grade and have demonstrated knowledge and progression through the beginning curriculum. 4th graders with prior playing experience on an orchestral string instrument may also qualify for the program based on an audition with Mr. Williams or Mrs. Cooke. Students receive one year of lessons, learning the refining the basic skills of playing their instruments as well as learning higher level musical skills and concepts. All students are also required to participate in the after-school orchestra rehearsals at Shoemaker Elementary, Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30. More information on the after-school orchestra program are located on the Instrumental Music Website.

Below are links to different learning lessons from throughout the school year. As the year progresses, more items will be available. Some lessons are posted as a review. Some lessons students will be asked to view prior to coming to lessons.
