2018 Mock Caldecott

~Past Mock Awards: Results, Titles, & Reviews~

The winner of the 2018 East Holmes Mock Caldecott Medal for best picture book is . . . "The Blue Hour" written and illustrated by Isabelle Simler. Our students loved the beautiful illustrations of all the animals depicted with countless shades of blue.

The first honor book is "Grand Canyon", written and illustrated by Jason Chin. The visually stunning illustrations of this outdoor wonder captivated our young readers across the district.

The second honor book is "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" by Jerry Pinkney. This childhood classic was intricately portrayed and loved by our students.

The People's Choice selection is "The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors" by Drew Daywalt.
