Homework Policy

Students will be given homework nightly, Monday through Thursday.  There may be some occasions that homework is given on Fridays, but that will not occur regularly.  We write homework down in our HAB each day during morning procedures.  This responsibility is given to students and practiced to ensure students success and continued accountability.

Homework will consist of short assignments that reinforce class material and should not take more than 20 - 30 minutes to complete.  Homework assignments will typically include Fundations dictation practice, fluency practice, reading or grammar skill practice pages, and math review pages.  Reading will be listed as a homework assignment each night, but will not be included in your child's homework grade.  I include this as an assignment because it is important that children read each night and I want them to get in the habit of reading each night before bed.

Homework grades will be given weekly.  Students begin with 100% and lose points for each missed assignment.  10 points will also be taken off for homework that is turned in late.
