TSSA is the Taieri Schools Sports Association.   East Taieri School, Silverstream School and Elmgrove School children in Years 4 -6 compete against each other in a variety of competitions throughout the year.

Term 1 - Swimming Sports

Term 2 - Duathlon / Orienteering (on alternate years)

Term 3 - Cross Country

Term 4 - Athletics

Thank you for registering your child for orienteering for 2024. Please find attached a copy of the Yr 4 and Yr 5&6 teams. For further information, please email rachelp@east-taieri.school.nz.

TSSA Swimming 2024 

The swimming champs will be held at Te Puna o Whakaehu (the Mosgiel pool) on Friday the 8th of March 2024. Children will need to arrive at 8.45am to give them enough time to get changed and be ready for a 9am start.


TSSA Swimming Champs enables your child compete against other swimmers from Elmgrove and Silverstream and gives them the opportunity to qualify for the Otago Primary Schools Swimming Champs later in the term.


Children will need to be dropped off at the pool in the morning at 8.45am and we will bus back to school at the completion of the competition.


We require 6 parents to help with timing, directing children and sorting results on the day. Please consider helping as we will not be able to run the event without additional help!


Please note that your child MUST be a confident swimmer to enter the TSSA Swimming Champs.

By filling in this form, you are giving permission for your child to swim in the champs and you are confirming they can confidently swim 2 lengths of the pool completely unaided by an adult or floating device.

TSSA Cross Country 2023

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2023 TSSA Cross Country. It was amazing to see so many children stepping outside their comfort zone and pursuing their personal best. A special congratulations to a group of children who finished Top 10 and will move on to compete at the Otago Primary Schools Cross Country on the 1st of September. A special mention to Leo C and Arnelle H for winning their categories and to Jack F, Evie B, Leon E-P and Oliva O'N for finishing within the Top 3 of their category. Duathlon  - 

Unfortunately the TSSA Duathlon was postponed in Term 2 due to Weather conditions. A date will be set in the coming weeks - keep an eye out for a new date soon,.
