In 1998, the East Haven Public Schools established the Family Resource Center to support the healthy development of families in the community. The Family Resource Center offers an integrated system of family support services that enhance parenting, promote family involvement with the schools, and help children to succeed academically, socially and emotionally, as well as help all children be school ready.
Our mission is to empower families by providing a holistic range of services that enhance self-esteem, foster growth, and enable each family member to reach their full potential. By fostering a warm, happy, and caring environment, we aim to inspire and motivate families to become lifelong learners, curious explorers, and influential leaders in their schools and communities.

The East Haven Family Resource Center’s programs are rooted in the Parents as Teachers model — a nationally recognized, research- and evidence-based curriculum. Our mission is to provide parents with the information, support, and encouragement they need to help their children reach their fullest potential during the crucial early years of life.
Our Parent Educators are certified in the Parents as Teachers curriculum and maintain their expertise through ongoing professional development and continuing education. This ensures families receive up-to-date, high-quality guidance that supports healthy child development and strengthens families.
