Year 3 Updates pending!

In History this term Year 2 Blue have been learning about the Great Fire of London.

We had a visit from a fire fighter in 1666 (although he does look suspiciously like Zayn in our class). They wrote some fantastic newspaper articles explaining why the fire spread so quickly.

Year 2 Blue made some cute Snowmen.

They used clay to make their bodies and then painted and decorated them. At least these ones won't melt!

Year 2 Blue have been learning about inclusion and anti-bullying.

We spoke about and performed the song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer which illustrates how our differences can actually make us special.

Watch our lovely performance here!

We also performed the Sugar Plum Fairy in our Music lesson.

Year 2 Blue enjoyed our trip to the Bruce Castle Museum to learn all about Remembrance Day and the famous soldier, officer and footballer, Walter Tull. We loved making our poppy wreaths too.

We have been using dienes to work out addition and subtraction sums. We are trying to understand how the column method works using various manipulatives.

We made moving pictures for DT when we were looking at the book Jack and the Beanstalk in English. Jack can move up and down the beanstalk when you pull the string at the back.
