Sinfonia Orchestra is the highest orchestra level and membership is open, by audition, to students who demonstrate established fundamentals of string playing, sight reading ability, as well as advanced techniques including vibrato and shifting. Sinfonia Orchestra students are expected to exhibit exemplary musicianship, leadership and citizenship inside and outside of the classroom.
Requirements for this class include:
A weekly before-school sectional requirement. Tuesdays 7:30-8:15am for Violins/Violas; Wednesdays 7:30-8:15am for Cellos/Basses.
Participation in the Region Orchestra Audition on October 4th, 2025.
Participation in Full Orchestra rehearsals and concerts in the spring semester.
Private lessons are highly recommended.

AYO is an extra-curricular orchestra program that offers students from all over the Austin area a chance to play with other students from different schools, to work with other directors and teachers, and play more fun music! This is open to any student with more than 1 semester of experience and is currently in their school orchestra program. Auditions take place each fall and spring for placement.
