Jeni Berecek is the Orchestra Director at Hill Country Middle School where she works with all the orchestras and beginner classes. She is so excited to get to work with all the students, faculty, and families at Hill Country!
Previously, she taught Orchestra in Austin ISD at Kealing Middle School and Lamar Middle School and Fine Arts Academy for 9 years where she was proud to have worked with and conducted the 2017 TMEA Middle School Honor Orchestra. Her orchestras have achieved superior ratings at each UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest and Festival Contest performances as well as gained national recognition through the Mark of Excellence Contest.
Before moving to Austin, Ms. Berecek began her cello studies at the age of 8 in the Centerville City Schools in Centerville, Ohio. After maintaining a private studio in high school, she decided to pursue a degree in music education at Miami University of Ohio and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors of Music Education. Besides teaching in schools, she is an active cellist in the Temple Symphony Orchestra and Sienna String Quartet. In 2010 she was an Intermediate Girls Cabin Counselor at Interlochen School for the Arts Summer Arts Camp in Michigan.
Her true passion is working with children and sharing her love of the arts. Outside of music her interests include spending time with her dog Ben, doing yoga, and playing Dungeons and Dragons! She is so happy to be working with the wonderful students, parents, staff, and faculty at Hill Country Middle School!

Ms. Hucks, originally from South Carolina, earned a Bachelors of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina where she taught with the USC string project and performed in multiple ensembles. Upon graduation, Ms. Hucks was the orchestra director at Hopkins Middle School in Columbia, SC, and later the orchestra director at Carolina Springs Middle School in Lexington, SC teaching orchestra and music to students with exceptionalities. She earned her Masters of Music Education degree at Texas Tech University where she was a teaching assistant, the lead teacher at the TTU String Project Community Partnership at Wester Elementary School, in addition to being the vice-president of TTU’S ASTA (American String Teachers Association) student chapter, a GPTI (graduate part time instructor) at TTU, and taught violin sectionals at multiple schools throughout Lubbock ISD. Ms. Hucks then began teaching at Tippit Middle School in Georgetown ISD where she served as the head orchestra director from 2023-2026. Ms. Hucks is so excited to join Eanes ISD and is thankful to be apart of the HCMS and WHS family! When not teaching, Ms. Hucks enjoys gigging around the Austin area, hiking, rock climbing, playing board games, finding new trails, and hanging out with family and friends.
