Erie-Catt Teacher Center
The Erie-Catt Teacher Center in Grover L. Priess Primary School in Eden serves a diverse population of teachers and is based on a "by teachers, for teachers" philosophy. By encouraging open dialogue and cooperation, we work with teachers to build programming supplements for professional development and to provide tools to assist teachers in their classrooms. To help students achieve higher standards, ECTC looks to work with educators to:
Strengthen teamwork among teachers across disciplines
Develop curriculum that connects to students' lives
Design class activities that engage all students
Use technology as an instructional tool
Manage a classroom more effectively
Apply State standards in a meaningful way for students
The ECTC is comprised of nine public school districts: East Aurora, Eden, Gowanda, Holland, Iroquois, Lake Shore, North Collins, Orchard Park, and Springville-Griffith; one BOCES District (Erie 2–Chautauqua-Cattaraugus); and three non-public schools: Immaculate Conception in East Aurora, Nativity of Our Lord in Orchard Park, and St. John Vianney School in Orchard Park.

History
Teacher Resource and Computer Training Centers were established by the New York State Legislature in 1984 to provide systematic, ongoing professional education services to the State's teachers. The initial appropriation of $3.5 million established 44 Teacher Centers throughout the State. The current allocation of $20 million (down from $40 million in 2008-09) supports over 124 Centers, which serve some 660 public school districts and BOCES, as well as hundreds of non-public schools across all regions of the State. More than 230,000 educators have access to Teacher Center services. The benefits they derive are passed on in the form of improved education for some 2.5 million students across New York State.
