Plastic Pirates - Go Europe! I dati raccolti vengono poi analizzati dagli scienziati. Ulteriori informazioni sui Plastic Pirates sono disponi bili all’indirizzo plastic-pirates.eu/it.
Plastic Pirates - Go Europe! is a European Citizen Science campaign in which schools and groups of young people collect plastic samples from streams and rivers and document their findings. The collected data are then analysed by scientists. In this way, young European citizens are making an important contribution to research on the condition of European rivers and the extent and possible sources of plastic waste pollution. The campaign aims to strengthen scientific cooperation in Europe, promote citizen involvement in science and society's participation in the European Research Area, and raise public awareness of the importance of adopting a conscious and environmentally responsible approach. The campaign was first developed as Plastic Pirates in Germany in 2016 by the Kiel Science Factory and its partners, with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for the Science Year 2016/17 – Seas and Oceans. It continued from 2018 as part of the research focus "Plastics in the Environment". During the German Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2020, the campaign was extended to the three countries of the Council Presidency Trio and implemented as a joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Science and Research of Germany, Portugal and Slovenia during the period 2020–2021. Since January 2022, the campaign has been extended to other EU Member States with the support of the European Commission. I nostri dati
Ciao a tutti!
Grazie!

About our Data
Hello everyone! We are super excited to share with you the results of the chemical and microbiological analyses from our project on the Arno River! These data are the result of the hard work that we, as students, have carried out with great dedication. We would like to point out that we obtained these results as part of our educational experience, so we kindly ask you to consider them carefully. We followed the established procedures for the analyses, but please remember that certain factors may affect the accuracy of the results, such as the intermittent nature of the sampling activities and the weather conditions at the time of sample collection. Oh, and yes, the analyses were carried out by us students, so there may be some small variations!
Therefore, we ask you to consider these data and our research as a general indication rather than a complete representation of the river's condition and the problems associated with microplastics. For a more accurate assessment, we recommend consulting official sources. Through our continued commitment to this project, we aim to improve our analytical practices, contribute responsibly to environmental monitoring, and bear witness to these urgent environmental issues.
Thank you!
