Hello! My name is Holly Kerr.  This will be my eighth year within the Emmetsburg School District, and my third year as the Middle School Counselor!  For my first five years in the district, I taught 9-12 Math.  I am also the Middle School Behavior Coach!  I'm looking forward to working with my students and colleagues to have a great year!

I grew up in Storm Lake, IA and attended Storm Lake St. Mary's.  After graduating in 2013, I attended Buena Vista University and received a 5-12 Mathematics Teaching Licensure in 2017.  I then taught 7-12 Math at Clay Central-Everly for two years before moving to Emmetsburg.  After my first two years of teaching at Emmetsburg, I decided to get a Masters in Professional School Counseling from Buena Vista which I officially received in May 2023.

I am married to Arik Kerr who is one of our Social Studies teachers at the high school. We have been married for a little over three years now. We have a seven-year-old Shih Tzu named Roo.  In our spare time, we love to spend time with family and Roo as well as traveling.  I have a personal goal of visiting all 50 states in my lifetime which I'm happy to say I added six new states to my list over the summer.

I am so excited to start school this year and get back in the groove of activities!  I am so happy to call Emmetsburg my home, and I look forward to continuing to make new memories with all of you!
