Hello! My name is Holly Kerr.  This will be my sixth year within the Emmetsburg School District, but my first year as the Middle School Counselor!  For the last five years, I taught 9-12 Math.  I am also the Student Council advisor at Emmetsburg High School as well as the Middle School Behavior Coach!  I'm looking forward to working with my students and colleagues to have a great year!

I grew up in Storm Lake, IA and attended Storm Lake St. Mary's.  After graduating in 2013, I attended Buena Vista University and received a 5-12 Mathematics Teaching Licensure in 2017.  I then taught 7-12 Math at Clay Central-Everly for two years before moving to Emmetsburg.  After my first two years of teaching at Emmetsburg, I decided to get a Masters in Professional School Counseling from Buena Vista which I officially received in May 2023.

I am married to Arik Kerr who is one of our Social Studies teachers at the high school. We have been married for a little over a year now. We have a five-year-old Shih Tzu named Roo.  In our spare time, we love to spend time with family and Roo as well as traveling.  I have a personal goal of visiting all 50 states in my lifetime.

I am so excited to start school this year and get back in the groove of activities!  I am so happy to call Emmetsburg my home, and I look forward to continuing to make new memories with all of you!
