Hello and Welcome! 

My name is Mrs. Ashley Bonner and I am the High School Counselor in the Emmetsburg CSD. Additionally, I am the Varsity Softball Coach, HS Behavior Coach, National Honor Society Sponsor, a Mentor Teacher, a member of the BLT/DLT team, and I am an Iowa Lakes Community College Dual Credit Instructor for Intro to Psychology.

I am from Storm Lake, IA. and attended Storm Lake St. Mary's. After graduation in 2013, I attended Buena Vista University where I played softball for the Beavers. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Educational Studies and Psychology in 2017. Then with my Master of Science in Education Degree in 2019. In my educational journey I have worked at Estherville Lincoln Central as a College Access Coach and at South O'Brien as their 7-12 School Counselor. Most recently in Emmetsburg, I have worked at West Elementary as their Counselor and at the Middle School as their Counselor! This is my second year at the High School level which is where I love to be!

My husband, Mr. Gable Bonner is also an educator. He is in his ninth year teaching with this being his fourth year as an Emmetsburg High School Math Teacher. In addition to teaching, he is an assistant coach for both football and wrestling for the E-Hawks and teaches College Algebra & Trig and Statistics for Iowa Lakes Community College as a dual credit. 

We have been married for seven and a half years and have three children, Maxwell, who is four and a half, Kinnick who is two and a half, and our daughter Adeline who we welcomed in August of 2025.  In our spare time we love spending time with our two Labradors, Drax and Thor, cheering on the Hawkeyes, cooking, traveling, fishing, and exploring new places with our family. 

Being a part of the E-Hawk community is such a blessing and I look forward to a great 2025-2026 school year!
