1. Preparation- You are expected to wear appropriate attire.

Sportsmanship can be demonstrated through fair play, applauding your opponent’s efforts, appreciation individual differences, and acknowledging your classmates’ contributions.

6. Attention- You will be required to have knowledge of the skills, rules, and strategies of each activity. Written tests, skill tests, and homework may be required.

YOUR DAILY SUCCESS IN P.E. WILL BE DETERMINED BY YOUR DAILY EFFORT. DAILY PARTICIPATION WILL BE EVALUATED AND THEN GIVEN A POINT VALUE THAT REPRESENTS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING GRADES.

Outstanding: An exceptional or “A” grade is given to those students who demonstrate outstanding participation. They demonstrate excellent effort, a positive attitude, great sportsmanship, careful attention, and are always adequately prepared. Their daily performance goes beyond personal achievement and exhibits a sense of care and responsibility for their classmates. In addition, the “A” student shows a desire towards improvement and responds positively to various teaching strategies.

Self-Directed: These students show effort and progress in all areas of participation to gain a “B” grade. They are self-directed and are responsible for their behavior and learning. Students at this level consistently exhibit positive progress and do not require direct supervision.

Involved: These students are active in daily participation and make some effort to improve their skill level. They avoid behaviors that interfere with the progress and learning of others. This represents a “C” grade.

Minimal Effort: This work is unmotivated and represents a minimal level or “D” grade. Students behave adequately and demonstrate self-control, and they do not interfere with the other students’ opportunity to learn, or the teacher’s ability to teach.

Unacceptable: A failing grade is given to students who refuse to be involved in daily activities and/or require constant supervision. These students act in an irresponsible, undisciplined manner, or are disrespectful. Their actions interfere with the other students’ opportunity to learn, the safety of the class, or the emotional and/or physical rights of others.
