Action in PYP : Creating Denim Bags and Pouches
Grade 5A was given the topic of making denim bags and pouches. To our surprise, everybody was super excited and thrilled to start with what they had been assigned to do! Everybody contributed to the best of their ability. Initially, they were taught the process of making the bags and pouches. Next, they brought some unwanted jeans to school to start the process, and a few students from their neighboring class, 5B, also helped by bringing their unwanted jeans.
Shortly after that, they started making the bags with the help and guidance of Ms. Shravani (Art teacher). They did all the cutting and designing work, while Ms. Shravani sewed the pieces together. Lastly, they added the finishing touches, such as décor and a few extra details.
Throughout this process, they worked together to create such amazing and beautiful bags, enhancing their communication skills too. At the end of the day, it was a fun and unique experience for them, and it was a great opportunity to create useful items from non-useful materials—or, as you could call it, "Best from Waste."

Action in PYP : Creating Manipulatives for Underpriviliged Children
Grade 5B was given the topic of creating manipulatives. They were all eager to put their creativity to the test and come up with unique ideas for making manipulatives. Initially, they were introduced to the topic and instructed on what they needed to do. They had to choose whether their manipulatives would be Math-based, Language-based, or based on a topic of their choice.
Together as a class, they combined all their manipulatives and presented them to underprivileged children. They mainly focused on covering topics that younger kids, such as those aged 3–7, would preferably use. This activity really put their artistic skills to use, and their critical thinking skills were developed in the process as well. They covered topics such as fractions, clocks, life cycles, and body systems.
These manipulatives will be put to good use and will serve as a useful source of education for young underprivileged children. This can also inspire others to take action and help others in any way possible, as that’s what "fun with learning" aims for.

Action in PYP : Young Entrepreneurs Shine at Winter Fest
We had a joyful event on the 20th of December – our Winter Fest! It was filled with enthusiastic activities, and one of the highlights was the delightful item sale. Our incredible grade 5 learners took part in this exciting opportunity to sell the unique creations they and the other grades had crafted, like beautiful jewellery and fun seed bombs.
All the items were made with love and creativity, to support a wonderful charity. The children were bubbling with excitement as they took on this responsibility, displaying impressive enthusiasm and eagerness. They managed to sell most of the items, developing their persuasive skills as they engaged with parents and visitors.
This experience not only allowed them to put their skills into practice but also encouraged them to reflect on their actions and learn valuable lessons. It was a heartwarming day filled with joy, learning, and a sense of community spirit, as our young entrepreneurs made a difference together!

Action in PYP : Community Health Initiative with Care and Commitment
Grade 5 had volunteered to do the registration for the health check up in the foyer for the bhaiyas and didis. The Sila staff from DYPIS and outsiders also got their health check up done for free. This included an eye check up, ear check up and a dental check up. The health checkup was done because the bhaiyas and didis can't get their health checkups very easily so DYPIS conducted a health checkup not only for bhaiyas and didis but for the community as well. Grade 5 worked together and made this activity fun and fruitful.
