Students in Year 9 must complete the compulsory Hauora PE course.
They may also choose any of the other semester courses offered in Physical Education and Health.
This course covers the essential strands of the Health & Physical Education curriculum. It aims to develop a range of physical and personal skills, as well as knowledge required for a healthy and positive lifestyle. Focus is on developing decision-making skills through the concept of Hauora, how this can be influenced, and the strategies we can use to manage our own health and well being. This course has both practical and classroom elements.
This course is based around enhancing well being/hauora through physical activity and working collaboratively with others. Students will develop individual and team skills, and strategies in a range of sporting and recreational based contexts. This course will suit students who enjoy being physically active.
This course will introduce students to adventure based problem solving, teamwork and outdoor education. It explores themes around personal and social development, taking on new challenges, working with others, and leadership within adventure and outdoor education settings.
