Year 10 Mathematics
Students build on their understanding of algebra as the generalisation of number. They also continue to explore geometry, measurement and statistics at Levels 4-6 of the curriculum. Students who are working confidently at Level 6 of the curriculum will be offered the opportunity to sit some Level One NCEA Achievement Standards.

Students focus on practical mathematics and numeracy. This prepares them for the Maths in Practice Course at year 11, and sets them up with the foundational skills they need to pass NCEA level 1 Numeracy.
This course is suited to students who may struggle with maths and need extra support. The class will be kept small, and entry will need to be approved by the Head of Maths. A Teacher Aide will be available as extra support in the class.
