The theme for Dunecrest MUN 2026  is "Balancing Sovereignty and Collective Responsibility in a Fragmented World." As we navigate an era defined by deep divisions, this theme invites delegates to critically examine the tension between national autonomy and the urgent need for unified international action. We challenge you to analyze how individual state interests and global collective mandates intersect in an era of rapid technological advancement and shifting geopolitical alliances. By engaging with complex debates—ranging from regional security to global resource management—participants will develop a nuanced understanding of leadership that balances sovereign rights with the imperative of international stewardship. We encourage you to seek innovative pathways toward cooperation, ultimately redefining the obligations of global actors who must build bridges where fragmentation persists.
