Coexistence is when Core IT and Early Adopters are using Google Workspace while the remainder of the company is using Microsoft 365. We call this period of the transition “coexistence.” Coexistence will last until everyone goes live in Google Workspace in January 2025.
Below is a chart detailing where to work and tips for your workflows during the coexistence period.
Gmail
Send and Receive Emails
Note: You cannot forward a calendar invite through Gmail. In order to invite them, you must add them as a Guest in the meeting invitation.
Outlook
Viewing Emails & Archive Folders
Send & Receive Emails from a Shared Mailbox
Google and Outlook Calendars
Scheduling Meetings
Note 1 : Your meeting invites will populate your Google Calendar. That being said, because most of the company has not gone Google yet, free/busy status will not be updated. If you want colleagues to be able to see this status, you will need to manually add these to your Outlook calendar.
Note 2 : If someone changes their invite sent to you from Outlook it will not automatically update in your Google Calendar. When you receive the email notification of the change, you will want to update this change in your Google Calendar.
If you change a meeting invite in Google, you will need to email the Outlook users to let them know an update has been made.
