10-Yard Fly Results
The 10-yard fly is a speed test designed to measure an athlete’s top-end speed over a short distance. Unlike traditional sprints that measure overall performance, the 10-yard fly focuses on how quickly an athlete reaches their maximum velocity after an initial buildup. This test is valuable for assessing how efficiently an athlete maintains their top speed, which is crucial in sports that require rapid bursts, like football, soccer, and basketball.
We test for the 10-yard fly because it gives insight into an athlete's ability to maintain high-speed output once they've hit their peak velocity. It’s particularly important for athletes who need to cover short distances at maximum speed, whether in open field situations or during key moments in a game.
Elite Range: 0.95 – 1.05 Seconds
Athletes who fall in the elite range for the 10-yard fly, recording times between 0.95 and 1.05 seconds, demonstrate exceptional top-end speed. These athletes reach their peak velocity quickly and maintain it over the 10-yard distance, positioning themselves as top-tier competitors in their respective sports.
