Purpose and Scope

Purpose

As an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – CPD Council for Social Work since 2017, the process aims to accredit DSWD’s learning development interventions (LDIs) so that participants of each LDI will earn credit units that they can use to renew their PRC license. Additionally, the process aims to comply with the corresponding PRC requirements for each accredited activity to avoid the invalidation of each LDI and of SWIDB as a CPD Provider.

Scope

This process covers SWIDB’s/CBS review and submission to PRC of CPD application and completion requirements from proponents (Field Offices (FOs) and Offices, Bureaus, Services, and Units (OBSUs). This includes the review of application that starts at least 45 working days before the conduct of LDIs, submission of completion reports (until the report is submitted to PRC), and encoding the activities in SWIDB’s monitoring sheet, which will be used in renewing SWIDB’s accreditation as a provider. This excludes the period waiting for PRC’s decision and the period in between the application and completion reports.

For Field Offices that are accredited CPD providers, they will also follow the process but may modify this according to their context, particularly on the proponents, responsible people involved in each step, and corresponding PRC Regional Branch where they are registered.

Client Satisfaction Measurement Survey will only be provided to activities that have completed the full cycle.
