MISSION/ GOAL
To provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable, and the disadvantaged individual, family, and community, being affected by disaster events and incidents through SWD policies, programs, projects, and services implemented with or through LGUs, NGOs, POs, other GOs, and other members of civil society.
OBJECTIVES
General Objective: This Manual aims to provide guidelines and procedures to all DSWD personnel and intermediaries in ensuring process for immediate relief and early recovery assistance to disaster victims / survivors.
Specific Objectives:
1. To be able to provide disaster policies, plans, and memorandum of agreements with partner stakeholders in relation to DSWD-disaster response effective implementation of its programs and services.
2. To provide all DSWD intermediaries with effective and efficient disaster programs and services, may it be technical assistance and/or resource augmentation, or both.
3. To provide basic subsistence needs including but not limited to food packs and non-food items (NFI) to disaster affected population
4. To safeguard and ensure stronger collaboration, coordination, and cooperation with DSWD partner stakeholders in providing a just and responsive disaster programs and services.
5. Provision of programs and services for disaster prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response, and rehabilitation.
