Prerequisite: Principles of Health Science, Health Science Theory, Biology, Chemistry. Anatomy & Physiology is strongly encouraged as a pre or corequisite. Application, background check, CPR certification, and drug test are are also required to be completed on own for successful admission to this program. OSHA training is provided. Credits: 2

This course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to work behind the counter of a pharmacy. Students taking Pharmacology will be placed in internships with local pharmacies in order to fulfill the minimum number of required practical hours. .

Upon successful completion for the course and satisfaction of minimum number of internship hours, students have the option to take the Texas Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. Students responsible for transportation.
