Prerequisite: Biology 1 & Principles of Health Science Credit: 1
This course builds upon the objectives of Principles of Health Science with a special emphasis on hands on skills, research, leadership, professional communication, and critical thinking. Students at this level will prepare career portfolios and explore in depth topics such as medical ethics, substance abuse, current trends in health care practice, and technological advances in the medical community. They will also be introduced to hands on professional skills such as suturing, sterile gloving & infection control procedures, advanced first aid, measuring vital signs, and recordkeeping.
