In second grade, students reading ability grows by leaps and bounds! Students increase their sight word knowledge and decoding skills leading them to read with greater accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

I provide literacy support and instruction to Second Grade. I have a small class size and a low teacher-to-student ratio.
Our program is designed to build upon the five pillars of effective reading instruction: Vocabulary, Comprehension, Fluency, Phonics, and Phonemic Awareness.
The Core Knowledge Language Arts Decodable Readers are used to build student confidence in reading. The chapter books are engaging and provide students with text at a level that they can read.

Additionally, I provide 2nd grade students with the Wilson Language Program: Fundations Reading Intervention. This specialized instruction supplements the child’s reading class.
