Welcome Future Patriots!

Our extensive course offerings provide students with the preparation they need regardless of their chosen post-secondary destination.
Some of our specialties include (you can find more information by clicking the links below):
Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) in Arts and Culture, Construction, and Health and Wellness,
and our Co-operative Education and Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs.
Our Guidance Department takes the time to meet personally with every student every year of high school to discuss their course selections and post-secondary plans.
The DSBN decided to destream all Grade 9 compulsory courses in September 2021. Since then, the Ministry of Education has aligned with this decision. As of September 2022, all Ontario students enrolled in Grade 9 will complete the following destreamed compulsory courses:
Academic pathway French (FSF1D), and Geography (CGC1D)
Destreamed English (ENL1W), Math (MTH1W) and Science (SNC1W)
Research shows that the practice of streaming students in Grade 9 closes doors for future opportunities. Through destreaming Grade 9 courses, more students will be empowered to pursue the futures they want, with doors open to all post-secondary options, including apprenticeship, college, university, and the workplace.

DSBN Student - NOT Living in Laura Secord Boundary - Boundary School Locator
If your student is currently a DSBN student and does NOT live within the Laura Secord boundary area but wishes to attend our school, they will:
1. Complete online course selections for their home secondary school with their Grade 8 teacher.
2. Complete an Alternate School Request Form available from your Elementary Principal. The form includes generic course selections for compulsory grade 9 courses; if approved, the requested secondary school will contact the parent and student to confirm optional courses.
All of this must be submitted to the elementary school Principal.
Application for an Alternate School does not guarantee approval. Students who are approved through this process are responsible for their own transportation. A DSBN Central Team will review Alternate School Requests.
If you are:
Not Currently a DSBN Student
If your student is not currently a DSBN student (e.g., attending a Catholic school or private school or being home-schooled), you must contact the Principal of your BOUNDARY DSBN high school - Boundary School Locator. The Principal will outline the process for you to follow.
