This program is intended for those seeking a career in the field of Architecture or Interior Design. Features include computer software training, development of project management skills, and application of design elements and principles for the field of residential or commercial design and decoration. Students will be introduced to professional business practices that include client interviews, presentation boards and design briefs. By working through the design process, students will create free-hand and computer generated illustrations, technical drawings and portfolio presentations in preparation for a career in this industry.
Note: TDJ2O or AutoCAD experience is strongly recommended.
This course examines how technological design is influenced by human, environmental, financial, and material requirements and resources. Students will research, design, build, and assess solutions that meet specific human needs, using working drawings and other communication methods to present their design ideas. They will develop an awareness of environmental, societal, and cultural issues related to technological design, and will explore career opportunities in the field, as well as the college and/or university program requirements for them.
