Jun-Ichi Ohara, M.D., Ph.D. is a ABIM Board Certified gastroenterologist (ABIM: American Board of Internal Medicine).

He initially trained in Japan and was also active in the cytokine research of B-Lymphocyte Stimulating Factor (which was later re-named to interleukin-4 (IL-4)). He worked at NIH and was a first author or co-auther in many scientific journals including Nature and Annual Review of Immunology. After transitioning to clinical care and completing his GI fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Dr. Ohara started private practice in southern California in 1996.

Dr. Ohara sees patients as a gastroenterology specialist as well as a general internist.
