Ship more efficiently and get your orders out the door faster! The sooner a customer receives an order, the more satisfied they will be with you, and the more likely they are to order again.
Below are tips that you can implement before, during, and after your live show to help improve your shipping proficiency.
Replenish all of your shipping supplies necessary to carry out your orders. It is a lot easier to have readily available materials to package a sale, instead of searching for some that may be around or having to order/buy some after your live show.
Here is a list of some items we feel are important to have to properly package an order.
Top loaders & penny sleeves
Team bags/poly bags
Marker/Pen
Bubble wrap or bubble mailers
Free USPS shipping boxes
Shipping labels
Printer paper and ink
Business cards/other marketing materials
If possible, buy supplies in bulk! This can cut down your price per unit, and save you on shipping time over the long run. To find supplies in bulk, we recommend stopping by your Local Card Shop or checking out websites like BCW Supplies.
Know where your supplies are while you stream! Having knowledge of your shipping supply locations makes for a smoother show. When a buyer purchases an item on your live stream, you should be able to easily pre-package the order and label it with the buyer’s username after the transaction is complete. This can be done directly on the team bag, or on a label.
2. We recommend you label as soon as the transaction is complete, so that you do not forgot which order is which. Labeling an order after a sale will help you cut time after your live show. This makes it easy to identify which shipping labels coincides with a particular order and reduces the possibility of an error.
Having an additional table/area to place sold orders will help with organization. This is especially important with repeat buyers, so you can easily locate and add it to their bag(s). In addition, this helps with keeping track of your order to ensure none are misplaced.
Time is money! The more time you spend packing and shipping, the less time you have for yourself and for your business. Pre-packing your orders, and then packing your orders and printing labels right after your live stream is a key to saving time.
To save time, invest in/use a thermal printer if possible. This can help you save time and money on printing costs!
A thermal printer does not require ink, and can link to your computer with a simple USB connection. There is also an opportunity to cut costs on paper supply and tape. With a traditional printer you need standard paper to print and tape to secure to the package, and a laser printer uses adhesive labels.
2. When packaging your orders, include a business card or a thank you note for the buyer. This helps build your relationship with your buyer and develop a loyal audience. It also helps with establishing brand awareness, so that the customer remembers exactly who they purchased from.
Find out your local USPS shipping times, so that you can drop off your packages before the last shipment of the day. This ensures your packages with be scanned and shipped on the day, as opposed to sitting in the office overnight.
