Hoverboard Project

To represent Newton's three Laws of Motion, we made a hovercraft. We started off with a large piece of wood. We cut the plank down to size and sanded it, in order to get the circular shape required. We then  cut a 5ft in diameter circle out of a plastic sheet.

We are drilled a ¼ inch hole in the middle of our wood plank and then wrapped duck tape around the perimeter of the plank. In order to cut circles 3 inch the plastic we made a stencil to make sure everything is evenly spaced out. To cut out the circles in the plastic sheet, we used a ruler to cut out a smaller circle in the middle of the sheet. We used the circle stencil to cut out the small circles on the second largest circle.

The next step is to trace a vacuum hole and cut it out. We used a 1 inch wide drill bit. We assembled the plastic sheet and wood plank together using screws. We screwed the plastic sheet in by turning it upside down and having the plastic sheet on the bottom. Our project was successful in being able to hover a person across the room.
