Community service has played a meaningful role in shaping who I am. Giving back to others has always been important to me, and I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways throughout my life. From tutoring and assisting at local elementary schools to handing out snacks, helping with dismissal, and supporting classroom activities, I’ve seen firsthand how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Being there for younger students and being someone they could count on gave me a sense of responsibility and pride that stuck with me. These experiences taught me the importance of service, patience, and being present for others.
My involvement in clubs like B.O.N.D, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and the Chick-fil-A Leadership Club helped me deepen my commitment to the community and develop valuable leadership skills. Through these programs, I participated in organized service projects and learned how to work as part of a team with a shared goal of uplifting others. It wasn’t just about checking off hours—it was about showing up, giving effort, and being a positive force in the lives of those around me. The relationships and lessons I gained through community service have helped shape my character and the way I approach life.
I’ve consistently done community service throughout all four years of high school, making it a regular part of my routine. Whether it was through school clubs or personal volunteer efforts, I made it a point to stay involved and contribute wherever I could. Looking ahead, I plan to continue serving others while attending Morehouse College. I believe in using my time, energy, and talents to give back to the community that supports me, and I’m excited to keep making a difference as I grow both personally and academically.
