Before reading the novel Purple Hibiscus we filled out an anticipation guide that was based on our opinions. One of the statements we had to voice our opinion on was if the father should be the head of the household. I did not agree with this statment before reading the novel nor after reading the novel. In my essay I stated previous reasons and evidence on why the father should not be the head of the household.

 The Odyssey is a book about  Odysseus 10 year long journey. Throughout this journey Odysseyus had to show his leadership and survival skills. Will on this journey Odysseus has showed some very herioc character traits. In this essay I state why I feel Odysseus is a hero.
